Ines Kaldas: The Face of the Cannes Film Festival

Ines Maria Kaldas PhD, MPA

A “unique“ model

Karl Lagerfeld once said “What one needs is a face that people can identify in a second.” So it often has been said that the most successful models are also the most unique models – unique in their looks but also unique in how memorable their personalities are.

And, Ines is a unique model.

A unique look

Ines’ distinctive looks won her features in numerous publications this past year alone. These include a cover in Hollywood Magazine, Her most recent cover in L’Officiel Switzerland,  a feature in Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam and finally the honor of attaining this cover in Grazia USA.

Thinking uniquely

Originally, a neurobiologist from Austria, Ines performed research on Alzheimers disease at Stanford University, CA, USA. Then she changed paths and graduated with a Master of Public Administration degree, MPA, from Harvard University, MA, USA with a focus in security policy.

Biology and risk management are anchored in logical thought. Safety and security policy are defined as so-called “mission-critical functions”. After realizing this on a more existential level, Ines observed that soft-skills like respect and mindfulness are mission critical functions as well. They are indispensable when successfully and peacefully coexisting. This thought stimulated a transition into networking, charity-work, film-making, painting – and, ultimately, modelling.

“Ines’ ideas and values as stated above took shape in 2017 as HER silent short film entitled “FLOW – The End of Mono-dimensional Thinking”. The content of the film merges art with neuroscience and risk management principles. The film explains through art how we form our perception of self, others, our environment, and society.

And this led to a unique approach to modelling

In modelling, Ines combines a scientist’s understanding of how we form our perceptions with her artistic endeavor to paint emotions.

Consequently, her unusual capacity for editorial photoshoots forms the brilliant aspects of uncovering situational storytelling: Ines’ definition of modelling is “where I can paint with my emotions, gestures, and posing.” Thereby she is captivating attention with an innovative, perceivable and relatable expressiveness.

Ines is far more than a model – she is her own incomparable personality with attitude, dignity, and elegance:

A recognizable brand with highly memorable brand recognition.

Ines brings soul and presence to modelling.

As an agency, Medianissa Finest is happy and proud to not only support Ines but also to promote her vision, and to create connections and opportunities wherever possible. Working with Ines as a personal brand is a matter close to CEO Anissa Asabban’s heart: “Working with Ines means giving a picture soul. She brings experience, but also a special personality of quiet courage and polite strengths – a presence that is in no way presumptuous, but lingers.”

Clients value Ines not only for her elegance, but, above all, for her poise. She brings a depth that transcends trends. Her presence tells powerful stories and portrays all the finely tuned elegance and emotional depth that is sought after by designers, photographers, and art directors.

To that end, Ines modeled on the runways of Paris Fashion Week 2025 and is the face of the new Cannes Film Festival.

The Photoshoot and Cannes Showroom

Splendidly, Medianissa Finest established a showroom in Cannes right next to Hotel Martinez. This historic hotel is eponymous with the Cannes Film Festival. Medianissa’s showroom became a hotspot for models, influencers, public figures, designers, and publicists, thus a creative hub right on La Croisette Cannes.

“We are honored and thrilled to be part of such a historic and inspiring moment at the 78th #cannesfilmfestival.

“We continue to set the benchmark for distinction on the world’s most prestigious stage!”

The current editorial took shape as Anissa Asabban, founder of Medianissa Finest, met fabulous Creative Director and Director of Production Nico Pesce Freijo at the showroom. Here it was decided to feature couture dresses from ateliers in Paris represented on the red carpet of the 78th #cannesfilmfestival to style Ines.

Nico Pesce Freijo is a renowned Art Director with a major presence in international fashion publications as well as at the Paris and Milan Fashion weeks. He directed this photo-shoot with selected designers from Medianissa’s showroom who found extraordinary success at the 78th #cannesfilmfestival in the heart of the French Riviera: The power of a golden couture dress by @fouadsarkisofficial was selected to reflect the iconic sun of the South of France. A stunning blue dress by @ornelyscouture was chosen and Ines brings it to life in dreamy metaphors of the color of the Cote d’Azur. Finally, for the cover of Grazia USA, @fouadsarkisofficial was chosen again through a silver couture creation that mirrors the shining, glistening waves with a black cape that is blown by the winds of the Mediterranean.
